It's official. Friends of Kings Park has won first place in the "Herald Society Awards 2009" ceremony held last night in Glasgow. They are the first place winner of the 'Community Project Of the Year' category.

An extract from the Herald newspaper has the following to say about FOKP: "Finally the judges were full of praise for the Friends Of King's Park,winners of the Community Project of the Year for their work to reclaim a popular Glasgow park due to concerns it was becoming a no-go area because of drinking and anti-social behavior. Their varied campaigning was hailed as a great example to others."

Thanks to our dedicated team of volunteers and supporters who made this possible. Hopefully, this is the impetus we need to allow FOKP gain some recognition in its work and to attract more volunteers to the group. Well done!
