Santa Claus looked at the weather report. He read "very heavy snow for Kings Park, Croftfoot and Cathcart." He looked at his diary – Santa's Grotto in Cathcart Old Parish Church. Children from the local primary schools, nurseries and mother and toddler groups were all looking forward to meeting him. A volunteer group, The Friends of Kings Park, had arranged the grotto in the church with the goodwill of the minister, Neil Galbraith.

Friends Of Kings Park with the Glasgow Cleanup Initiative undertook cleanup of litter in Kings Park, assisted by year 7 pupils from St Mirrans Primary School on the 27th August.

The greenhouses belonging to the Castlemilk Gardening Club are undergoing refurbishment. The second greenhouse , aptly named Greenhouse No 2, has been completed and reopened on 10th July 2010.

It's official. Friends of Kings Park has won first place in the "Herald Society Awards 2009" ceremony held last night in Glasgow. They are the first place winner of the 'Community Project Of the Year' category.

CastleMilk Gardening Club has begun its annual plant sale for 2010. It starts on the 10th May 2010, from 11AM to 5PM at Kings Park nursery.

FOKP in conjunction with some local nurseries, arranged for a Santa's grotto visit for the children in mid December 2009. The participation was overwhelming and the outcome was a success.
